This is a piece about positive thinking. As I made it, I thought of the poem, "Your mind is a garden, your thoughts are the seeds. You can grow flowers or you can grow weeds," by William Wordsworth. How true it is! And then I took it one step further-how are we to know that weeds are inherently undesirable? The truth is, some weeds can be useful and quite beautiful. Many plant species are considered weeds but have very useful applications or can be quite beautiful to look at. So maybe we should take the poem a step further and find positive traits even in weeds! After all, if it is beautiful or useful in any way, isn't it worth holding near and dear? Especially if something good can come of it? :)

This work was juried into The Sky’s The Limit Exhibition at Las Laguna Art Gallery, April 2021! It was also awarded Honorable Mention in J. Mane Gallery's 2021 "In Full Bloom" Exhibition!
